Atchison-Simmons Wedding Reception

All parishioners are invited to a reception in honor of Bill and Debby Simmons's daughter, Katie, and her groom, Jon Atchison. The reception will begin at 3 pm on Saturday at the Community room at Shepherd's Cove.

Spirituality of Worship

Fr. David will lead a class on the spirituality of worship this Sunday, after Coffee Hour, in the Kappler room. Nursery care will be available during the class. If you weren't able to attend the first session, don't worry. Fr. David will catch you up

If you plan to attend, please prepare for this class by reflecting on those worship experiences that have been the most meaningful to you. What made them so meaningful to you? How did you feel in that moment? How did it change your relationship with God.

Searching for a Bishop

The Search and Nominating Committee for the 11th Bishop of Alabama will hold a "Listening Session" today at 3 p.m. at The Church of the Nativity in Huntsville. The session should end about 4:30 p.m. No registration is required. The committee will be listening to hear "who we are as the Episcopal Church in Alabama," and "what qualities we believe are important in our next diocesan bishop."

School Supplies Needed

Through the Albertville Chamber of Commerce, we are collecting school supplies that will be distributed to the needy children of the community. On Sunday, August 1^st, please bring them to the altar and have them blessed along with our own children's Blessing of the Backpacks. Here is a list of requested items:

Sign Up for Camp McDowell

It's time to sign up for our Parish Family Retreat at Camp McDowell from Friday, Aug. 27—Sunday, Aug. 29. Look for the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the office.

By vote of the Vestry, no payment will be required of anyone to attend the retreat. But it does have a cost. For a double room, Camp McDowell charges $75 per person for two nights. Children through the age of 10 are free if they stay with their parents. The cost includes meals.

This was not included in the original yearly budget. Donations to help everybody make it to the retreat will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to help, you are welcome to make a contribution. Please write, "Inreach" in the memo line of your check.
